Jim joined Compass in 2018 to lead business development.

 

Jim has over 30 years of experience, more than 20 years of which has been in private equity. He most recently led the private equity businesses for the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), Zurich Insurance and Allianz, respectively. Jim began his career at the General Electric Company, followed by roles in M&A at General Motors Corporation and the Barents Group.

 

As a private equity investor, Jim has been responsible for investing more than $10 billion in the global private markets, of which $1.2 billion was invested in 26 companies and $900 million in secondary transactions.

 

Jim has served as a member of numerous boards of private companies in the US and Europe as well on the advisory boards of many private equity partnerships. He is currently a member of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Private Equity GmbH.

 

Jim earned a BSc from Cornell University and holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
