Alister joined Compass Partners as a Partner in 2013.

 

From 2000 to 2012, Alister worked at Vision Capital, latterly as a senior partner and on the Investment and Management Committees.  Alister has been involved in the secondary direct market since its inception in Europe, including all aspects of transaction origination, execution, leadership and exit of portfolio companies and fund raising.  Alister completed seven secondary direct transactions with a value of more than $1 billion and executed nine fund raisings for $2 billion. 

 

From 1992 to 1997, Alister worked at UBS where he started in structured debt origination and moved to credit trading working in London, Hong Kong and Tokyo.  From 1989 to 1992, Alister worked at Salomon Brothers in structured debt origination. 

 

Alister also has a non-executive role at South Suez Capital, the leading African fund of funds. 

 

Alister holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Bristol and MBA from London Business School.
